    Endowment

Giving to the Ralph Scott Lifeservices Endowment is an impactful way of supporting our mission in perpetuity. When you make a gift to the endowment, you will help create a permanent stream of income, allowing the organization to be less dependent on unpredictable sources of revenue.

    Qualified Charitable Distributions

A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows individuals who are 70 1/2 years old or older to transfer up to $100,000 to charity tax-free each year. For those 73 years old, QCDs count toward the IRA owner’s required minimum distribution for the year. See details on the IRS website.

    Planned Giving

Bequests are a meaningful way to make a lasting legacy to be remembered. Bequests lessen the burden of taxes on your family after you are gone and may have other tax benefits for you. This may include gifts made through your will, trust or retirement plans.

Your financial advisor may assist in specifying language in your will to ensure your wishes are clearly communicated and carried out.

    Gifts of Stock

A transfer of appreciated stock increases the amount Ralph Scott Lifeservices would receive compared to donating cash, or selling your appreciated securities and contributing after-tax proceeds. When you donate stock, you will generally take a tax deduction for the full fair market value.

For instructions on transferring stock, please contact Barbara@rsli.org or (336) 227-1011 ext. 22.

    Matching Gifts

Many companies will match gifts made to a charity by their employees. Most companies match gifts on a one-to-one or two-to-one ratio. Check with your Human Resources department to see if your company will match your charitable donations and what steps to take to ensure your dollars are matched.
